The program will feature guest speaker David Lassner, 15th President of the University of Hawaii. As he assumes leadership of the UH System, President Lassner will share his thoughts about the task ahead. Prior to his July 1, 2014 appointment, President Lassner served as interim president from September 1, 2013. He has worked at the university since 1977 and was most recently its Vice-President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. He is an ex-officio member of the East-West Center Board of Governors.
The program will also feature a presentation of the Friend for Life Award to Mrs. Sumi Makey.
Program portion is in cooperation with the East-West Center and the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council (PAAC).
